In all this talk about "open" adoption, I forgot to mention something. This is not co-parenting! After
a birth parent signs the relinquishment papers, we no longer have any decision making capabilities.
If one of the boys calls me later on in life and asks me if he is grounded, I will ask about what his parents said. I will listen to him, of course, but I will not go against what his parents said. His parents are his parents!!! They have all they responsibility to make the decision in how he is being raised. I chose who I chose because I knew that they would provide a wonderful life for him.
